Folks often ask where the best place to buy their new cornhole bags is. If need some new cornhole bags, or your first set, I have some recommendations for you.
If you are unfamiliar with the different bag options you might want to head over to our Official Cornhole Bags – Buyers Guide.
Regardless of where you get your bags, you are going to be spending between $12 to $30 per set (a set would be 8 bags – 4 in one color, and 4 in another color) This price includes the cost of shipping and handling.
Amazon
If you already have an Amazon Prime account, you can probably stop reading this post right here. With Amazon Prime, it is hard to beat free two day shipping.
Amazon has a pretty good selection of cornhole bag sellers, but you may not see the variety in color and designs you are looking for. Amazon also has a lot of other cornhole related stuff that comes up when you do a search for “cornhole bags”.
For that reason, I have grouped together some of the most high rated cornhole bags on Amazon for you!
Corn Filled Cornhole Bags
All Weather Plastic Pellet Cornhole Bags
When you need your bags shipped fast, I’ve been very happy with the results (again, I have Prime so I get them in two days). Even without prime, the shipping is not too bad.
Also, please be aware that not all products are Prime eligible. Check before you buy!
Victory Tailgate
Victory Tailgate is a site that is dedicated to tailgate games like cornhole, tumble towers and giant checkers. If you are looking to get more than just bags, this is a good place to start.
They have cornhole boards and bags for Collegiate, NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and more. If you are having a wedding, and want to play cornhole at your special event, Victory Tailgate has some pretty cool options.
Victory Tailgate offers a limited selection of bag colors (17), but the quality of the cornhole bags is very good, and the company has excellent customer service and support.
The cornhole bag colors offered are: Royal Blue, White, Turquoise, Purple, Pink, Navy Blue, Light Blue, Hunter Green, Gold, Brown, Burgundy, Gray, Kelly Green, Yellow, Orange, Black, Red.
You have the choice over what filling goes into your bags. Traditional corn, or the all weather plastic pellets.
A set of 8 bags with corn filling: $14.98
A set of 4 bags with all weather plastic pellet filling: $19.98
Shipping and handling for 8 cornhole bags is $10.00. Every 8 bags you add, increases the shipping cost by $10.00 which kind of sucks. If you are ordering just one set of 8 cornhole bags, with the cost of shipping added in you are pretty close to the price offered through Amazon.
However, go over and you’ll be paying a lot more thanks to shipping.
One thing I like about this site is that they offer a wide selection of cornhole boards as well. If you check out their CLEARANCE section, you can find some amazing boards (that come with a new set of bags) for $99. The only thing wrong with these boards are minor cosmetic defects. Nothing that would impact the actual game play.
Anyway, these boards didn’t pass their quality control, so that gives me confidence that they are paying attention to the product they sell and stand behind them.
Cornholebags.com
Cornholebags.com is all about cornhole. All they carry are cornhole boards, bags and wraps.
First impression of the site is that it doesn’t look very professional… I personally have never ordered anything from them.
Cornholebags.com a slightly larger selection of bag colors (23) with a 30-day money back guarantee.
The cornhole bag colors offered are: Royal Blue, White, Turquoise, Purple, Light Pink, Navy Blue, Light Blue, Hunter Green, Gold, Brown, Burgundy, Gray, Kelly Green, Yellow, Orange, Black, Red, Maroon, Dark Maroon, Fuchsia, Grass Green, Olive Green
You have the choice over what filling goes into your bags. Traditional corn, or the all weather plastic pellets.
A set of 8 bags with corn filling: $15.95
A set of 8 bags with all weather plastic pellet filling: $23.95
Shipping and handling for 8 cornhole bags is $10.95. Every 8 bags you add, increases the shipping cost by $4 which is better than Victory Tailgate.
If you are planning on ordering more that two sets of 8 cornhole bags, and you like the color options offered by Cornholebags.com, this might be the way to go as you would save a few bucks.
Make Your Own
If you happen to have a sewing machine lying around, you could always make your own cornhole bags!
However, I don’t know that you are going to save any money.
You would probably only want to go down this path is you had some custom designs you wanted to do. Or if you want to make a lot of bags…buy in volume, save in volume.
If you have some feed corn lying around, you will save some money there. If now, you are going to need some plastic pellets.
14-16 ounces per cornhole bag and this is a 10lb bag of pellets. Doing the math, that means you are going to get about 10 cornhole bags (I guess that means you will have two extra as backup).
You will also need some 10oz duck canvas and heavy-duty thread. The canvas comes by the yard, and usually runs about $2 – $4 a yard, depending on the color. 1 yard of this canvas will make 16 complete bags.
Since each set of 4 needs to be a different color, you will need to buy 1 more yard of another color.
There is a great tutorial on making your own bags, including templates and photos that you can find at Big Duck Canvas. They also have some discounted prices on the supplies you will need.
Conclusion
Personally, I prefer to buy my cornhole bags from Amazon. I have ordered many sets from them and they always ship fast (with Prime). One time I had a defective bag, and Amazon returned it and shipped me a new set.
If you don’t find what you are looking for at Amazon, move on to Woodgamz.com You are going to pay a little more…but if you find what you are looking for, it will be worth it.
Please let me know if I missed any great places to purchase cornhole bags. As always, we appreciate you comments!

I love the game of cornhole at a nice summer picnic. I didn’t know that you could get different logo bags. I also never knew what actually was inside of the bags. I like how you can get all weather bags I think that is a great idea since most people play the game outside. What is the cheapest site to get the bags at ?
Summer time, family and cornhole…it doesn’t get much better than that!
So, it all started with feed corn inside the bags. There are two problems with corn: over time the corn breaks down and turns to dust (you know this is happening when the bag hits the board and a dust cloud is released), if the corn gets wet it is done for.
And there was actually a time (might even be still going) that feed corn was more expensive than plastic pellets! The plastic of course doesn’t have the same problems as corn. And in my opinion, plastic throws more consistently.
As for where to get the cheapest bags…that is probably going to be Amazon. With shipping, you are going to be able to get a nice set of 8 for
Beautiful site!
I didn’t know what a cornhole bag was, we call them bean bags here.
Very detailed, easy to access and find what I am looking for. All in all easy to get around, easy for people to purchase products advertised.
It looks like Amazon is a great place to buy bags. Is it easy to return them if you have issues? Is there any place else you recommend?
Thanks!
Kerry,
Thanks for stopping by BoardDecals.com and for all the compliments on the website. We are working hard to provide all the best stuff when it comes to the game of cornhole!
Yeah, I get a lot of people that stop by the website that tell me they call the game “bean bag toss”. Based on the number of people that have said this to me, I think I am going to have to start using “Cornhole / Bean Bag Toss” or “Cornhole aka Bean Bag Toss”.
Anyway, in my experience Amazon does a great job with returns. I’ve never had any problem, especially if the return happens within a couple of weeks of purchase. If you are looking for a good warranty on your bags, Woodgamz.com offers a 1 year warranty (USA made) and they have excellent customer service and support.
Now get out there and play some bean bag toss!
Love the site! I wish I had more time to play cornhole in the summertime. It would help if I had my own set. I’m always relying on friends to bring their’s to parties. Maybe the it’s time to buy! Seems like making your own bags would be more of a pain than anything else, but what about making your own boards? Do you have any tips for making your own cornhole board set?
Ryan,
Dude, you need your own cornhole set! Don’t be one of “those” guys that doesn’t have a board, but then shows up to play using other people’s boards, and then beats them…making them look like unskilled fools. 😉
My brother-in-law is like that. The guy doesn’t own a set, comes out to play once in a blue moon, and right out of the chute starts throwing points. It’s frustrating. If you are going to beat me I want to know it is because you have spent hours practicing!
The first cornhole boards I owned were ones that I made. We had some left over plywood and 2×4 from some remodel project. For me, the parts ended up being “free”, since it was discarded material. I probably spent $5 on hardware and 4-5 hours working on cutting and assembling the boards. They were a little rough, but they were mine.
If you are going to make your boards, and have to purchase everything new from Home Depot, you should expect to spend about $45. When you add in the drive time to get the materials, and the time to cut and assemble…in my opinion, it’s not worth it. For another $45 you could get a set of unpainted boards shipped. No tools, sanding or waiting required. Just sit back and wait for them to arrive, and then start playing!
However, if you do want to build your own set, there are lots of instructions and plans out there. I personally like How to Build a Regulation Cornhole Board at the DIYNetwork.
Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you for taking time to research about those places, so that I do not take time to do so. I also like the idea of making my own cornhole bag; it will be an amazing experience.
Also, I would like to thank you because I could obtain very good knowledge about cornhole bags from your site, which will help me a lot when buying them.
Mohamed,
You are welcome! Glad we could help you find your next set of cornhole bags!
Making your own bags is a fun experience. My sister made the family bags as a Christmas present. It was really cool as each bag was custom made with something fun for each person. An an example, my favorite color is Navy Blue. So my bags were Navy Blue with my initials in white.
Sounds like you are new to the game of cornhole…so welcome to the family. It’s such a fun and easy to learn game. With an initial investment of under $100 you will have so many hours of fun!
Now get out there an play some cornhole!
I wish I saw this article before I bought my cornhole board and bags. I bought mine on etsy only because they were plain boards. My boyfriend talked about making his own and painting them his way so thats why I bought them for his Christmas gift. The boards came with bags thought so I thought that was a good deal.
I also bought LED lights to go around the inside of the hole in the boards so we could still play at night. Have you seen other great articles or websites that sell LED lights?
Traci,
Etsy has some good cornhole products, but you’ll find a limited selection and the prices are usually higher than some of the places I recommend in my post here at The Cornhole.
How did your boyfriend’s paint job turn out? If you can, please share some pictures with us! : ) For ideas on decorating your board, check out our post on Board Decals.
When it comes to board lighting, you can’t really beat Amazon. Especially if you have a Prime account and get free shipping. I’ve highlighted a few of our favorites from Amazon on our Cornhole Accessories page. It’s so much fun to play a night…everyone should consider adding lighting to their boards. For less than $20 you can keep the fun going late into the night.
Thanks for stopping by The Cornhole!
I love Amazon. I agree that it is a great place to buy products like this, especially those sold by Amazon due to the nature that if they don’t meet your expectations you can return them
Can’t say the same for some other companies, or if you buy them off a site like Craigslist.
Such a fun game, thanks for the great post. I look forward to reading more in the future.
I wonder if the cheaper corn hole bags hold up pretty well? Nothing is worse than trying to play and the bags start leaking.
I have to say, I love Amazon as well. (I’m a little worried about them taking over the world…but still, I love my master).
Yes, one of the things I love most about Amazon is their return policy and the ease of returning product. I have purchased a TON of stuff on Amazon and never once had a issue returning an item. And not only do they make returns easy, they also credit your account faster than any other company I have ordered from online.
The cheaper bags are FRUSTRATING! Better have a sewing kit handy is you expect to keep playing with bags that are ripping at the seam. My recommend is to spend the extra couple dollars and get the heavier material and sticking. You’ll thank yourself. (It is also a good idea to have an extra set on hand…because, they do wear out eventually)
Thanks for stopping by The Cornhole. I hope you have a great summer, and lots of opportunities to get out there and play some cornhole!
Thanks for the summary on where to go to get cornhole bags. I’m another one that refers to it as bean bag toss, but that’s ok. While I have a basic set, I wouldn’t mind getting one associated with one of my favorite professional sport teams. Maybe one day I’ll head over to Victory Tailgate to get one. Do you prefer corn filling or plastic pellet filling though with your bags?
I think I need to create a survey to find out what people call the game by, and from what part of the country the are from. I think there has to be some kind of correlation! There are these great maps that look at some of the different names we have for common (and not so common) things.
Victory Tailgate has some amazing boards and really good quality. If you want an unpainted board, I would recommend Woodgamz.com.
Personally I prefer plastic pellet filling in my bags. The remain consistent for a longer period of time. And to be honest, I get lazy (and maybe a little drunk) and forget to bring the bags in a night. The corn filled bags don’t like moisture. If it rained that night, or there was a lot of dew, the corn filled bags could be ruined.
Hope you get a chance to get out and play some cornhole soon!
I had no idea you can get themed cornhole bags. That would have come in super handy a few years ago. My girlfriend (at the time) and I love to camp. We decided to take it one step further and buy an RV and travel around the USA fulltime. So when we decided to tie the knot, we did so in a campground. We had a blast. One of the games we had there was corn hole. It would have been cool to have some of those themed bags. We never even thought to look!!! We might just have to get some themed bags in our travels!!!
Hey there Dennis. Thanks for stopping by The Cornhole and leaving your comment!
Themed cornhole boards and bags would have been a perfect addition to your “honeymoon”!
You know what the nice thing is?
Every year you have an anniversary!
And I know you two aren’t done camping. So….you two should created a set of cornhole boards that capture your personalities. Then when you are out camping, meeting new people, you can use the cornhole boards as a great conversation starter.
Anyway, I hope you two are having a great summer and getting plenty of opportunity to be outside….and of course, play cornhole!
All the best!
Hi Kim, Wow, I had never heard of cornhole until now and it looks like a great fun game. I went to every link and I read everything and now I want a cornhole set so I can get started playing this fun game. I imagine there is a lot of laughter and I really want to play as soon as possible. What a great website and so informative, thank you so much
Welcome to the wonderful world of cornhole Vicki! Prepare to have your mind blown!
OK, so maybe cornhole is not “that” life changing, but it is an extremely fun game for all ages.
There are a lot of really great cornhole sets out there (everything you need to start playing) for under $100. For a little bit more money you purchase some higher quality boards that will last a long time.
Christmas is right around the corner! Get a cornhole set on your wishlist! 🙂
